PLE plans hydrogen pipeline in the south of Leipzig

Stadtwerke Leipzig has commissioned PLE with general planning services for the H2-South-Pipeline Project.

The aim of this project is the construction of a new hydrogen pipeline from the Kulkwitz heating plant to the combined heat and power station Leipzig-South over a length of approx. 12.5 km. This pipeline is necessary in order to transport green hydrogen from the industrial site of Leuna, where large electrolysis plants are currently being planned, to the newly built combined heat and power station in Leipzig South. The implementation of this project is therefore part of Stadtwerke Leipzig's strategy of generating the required district heating CO2-free by 2045.
